Thank you for taking the time to visit my page in honour of my Gran - Christina McInanny- or Chrissie as she was known. She died on 16th Sept 2005 aged 81 - 1 week & 1 day after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). My Gran went into hospital with mobility problems and a few weeks later she was given the devastating news. Although she knew the prognosis she didn't want to know how it was going to affect her (although given the symptoms she had, we think she knew). All my family were devastated at receiving this news, even her Consultant was shocked at her rapid deterioration. Like many people all I knew was that it was a muscle wasting disease but after researching on the web I found that there are other horrible symptoms too.
As a way to cope with not having my Gran with me, I have set up this fund in her honour to raise as much money as possible for much needed research into this devastating disease and to help the MND Association continue their good work and one day to find a cure. Remember every penny counts! All monies raised on this page will be earmarked as being donations made via my Gran's Tribute Fund when they reach Motor Neurone Disease Association.
