I am Leanne’s husband and other people have stressed about the disease that took Christina McInanny from her friends and family. The speed and quickness of the affects was shocking to everyone involved in her last days from the family and friends that knew very little about the disease to the professionals who deal with the affects on a day to day basis , When you look into this disease and start learning more about the conditions and what people have to go through , the only thing you can think is what can I do to help , well this is a very good way to start and i urge as many people as possible to contribute in one way or another.
I am not big on words but the person that this website is about i could talk about for days. Christina was a strong willed woman with a lot of spirit , Pride and a bit of stubbornness about her. We all have a bit of this in us but this is a woman that worked until she was 80 , went to the same hairdressers until she was eventually hospitalized and more importantly of all never gave in , Christina fought this disease all the way to the end with everything she had and this seems to be the perfect tribute to Christina for her grand daughter to carry on the fight for her .
Christina treated me as part of the family and allowed me to see how much she loved her family and how proud she was in them all. Christina attended our wedding in August 2004 just thirteen months before we lost Christina, I am mentioning this as we had a video made as most people do and when you look back you can see Christina with no problems at all , smiling , laughing and posing for the camera with no signs of distress of this illness at all and this is how i like to remember her by and also remember the devastating effects this disease had in such a short time.
Leanne has done this out of the love she has for her Gran and in a way to be able to find a way to help other people that are affected by this disease.
